Away Rotations in Anesthesia

Visiting an established anesthesia center for 2-4 weeks can be an excellent way to find out if Anesthesia is the right specialty for you.  The UCSF Department of Anesthesia and Perioperative Care offers a four-week clinical experience for advanced medical students with prior experience in anesthesia. The well-structured rotation introduces students to a diversity of cases, patient populations, and educational culture at UCSF, an international leader in anesthesia research and clinical practice.

The BIDMC Department of Anesthesia, Critical Care, and Pain Medicine offers a Fourth Year Medical Student Rotation. This four-week elective in Anesthesiology exposes fourth year medical students to a wide variety of cases, from basic ambulatory procedures to more advanced subspecialty cases.
